Requirements:
Update: The two bands have merged; now there is one band that meets at 7:30 on Monday evenings. Please look at the placement materials below in order to get an idea of whether you are ready to be in the band. Band: You are ready for the summer band if you feel that you are experienced enough on your instrument to read and play the selections found here . Advanced Band: You are ready for the Advanced summer band if you feel that you are experienced enough on your instrument to read and play the selections found here without difficulty. Rehearsals: Monday evenings, July 2 – August 20, 7:30-9:00 pm Concert: August 26 at 2:00 pm. (Band members will be asked to arrive earlier). Rehearsals and the concert will take place at the Rutland Library, 280 Main St., Rutland. Commitment: All band members are expected to perform in the final concert. Our bands are small; any change in personnel affects the entire group and requires hours to rearrange music. Please consider this commitment carefully. Attendance at every rehearsal is appreciated. Please inform Mrs. Fitzgerald before any missed rehearsal. Band members must practice at home as necessary for productive rehearsals. Any band member who is consistently unprepared for rehearsal due to lack of practice will be not be allowed to continue participating in the band. Help outside of rehearsal is (happily!) available by contacting Jane Fitzgerald.
